Individual Counseling and Coaching
Meeting in person or via HIPAA compliant video, we can tailor the length and frequency of visits to meet your needs. Need 30 minute sessions twice a week? An hour bi-weekly? Whatever suits you best. Individual counseling sessions are suited for clients who benefit from the consistency of meeting weekly and the safety of undivided attention and experienced care.
Group Work
I have enough humility and experience to know there is something provided by the presence of a group that produce a different kind of transformation than individual work. I facilitate a variety of groups, some focused more on topics and tools and others more on creating a safe place to explore past trauma or provide present support. Ask about my current group offerings or if you'd like a group facilitated for your team or organization.
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy
Behavioral patterns, especially those acquired in the early stages of development, are not always conscious or verbal. They exist in the body and manifest as automatic reactions. In equine therapy, we are able to practice a purely embodied relationship with the horse, attuning to our reactions and their response to us, and helping our bodies practice new ways of engaging ourselves, others and the world.
Retreats and Intensives
Sometimes it's difficult to engage or explore fully when we know we need to get back to our daily lives in 55 minutes. Intensives provide opportunity to fully immerse yourself, you and your partner, or a group in a 4+ hour healing experience and combine art, movement or other modalities outside of traditional talk therapy or coaching to fully connect your mind and body in a tangible experience you can carry with you.

Similar to intensives, retreats provide uninterrupted space to recover from the pace of daily life and reorient yourself towards intensive healing work. Ask about retreats being offered this year or if you'd like a private retreat facilitated for a group or team.
Teaching, Training and Speaking
There is nothing more life giving than seeing leaders and teachers and dreamers find motivation, insight and clarity for their work through their own self-awareness and healing process. Please contact for rates and availability.
My Approach
Trauma Informed
Many hear the word "trauma" and assume that term is relegated to the drastic and single incident events that headline newspapers. The actual definition of trauma is anything that is too much, too soon, or too fast for your nervous system to handle, especially if you can't resolve it at the time. Prey animals, whose lives are routinely threatened in the wild, are able to quickly re-regulate their nervous systems. Humans, on the other hand, often override these natural ways of regulating the nervous system and instead take on shame, self blame and hypervigilance as a means of coping. Trauma informed therapy addresses the impact of single incidence as well as neglect, gaslighting or other chronic and pervasive traumas by attending to the nervous system and focusing on safety and re-regulation as we process traumatic events.
Narrative Focused

We are most fully seen and known in the context of our stories. A narrative focused therapist will accompany you into the darkest and most challenging terrain of your story, providing the context and the care that you didn't receive at the time the stories transpired. As you are invited to discover themes and patterns within your story, your therapist will help you to understand, tell and live out your story in deeper and more transformative ways. Eve has undergone a year long certification with the Allender Center in Seattle in Narrative Focused Trauma Care. Click here to see more about their work and philosophy

Embodied

Our story is stored and experienced within our body, so a therapist who wants to move you beyond just insight needs to stay attuned your physical experience; attending empathically, responding authentically, and responding to nonverbal signals, including tone of voice, facial expressions, eye gaze, and bodily motion, essentially speaking out loud the otherwise hidden shifts in states of mind and body. This focus helps a client to reconnect with their body, which holds the experience of their trauma and pain as well as their experiences of where safety, meaning and wholeness lie for them.

Cognitive

Many harmful behaviors are direct results of deeply held beliefs, interpretations, judgments and rules that we create to explain our early experiences. Naturally, given the way a young child's brain processes, many of these beliefs are absolute and extreme, with little room for more realistic complexity and nuance. Given the typical response to difficult or challenging early experiences (shame, self-blame, judgment), these absolute and extreme beliefs are typically directed back toward ourselves. In counseling and coaching we not only disentangle and challenge these beliefs, but (since all beliefs are rooted in our experience) we create a new experience of acceptance and care and form new beliefs out of the context of a healthy therapeutic relationship

Attachment Centered

Our early attachments form our ways of living, loving and relating. To process how we understand and operate in the world, our perception of ourselves, and our way of being in relationships, we have to understand how our earliest relationships formed us.

Multi Generational and Multi Cultural

If our stories shape us, so do the stories of those that we come from. We are complex and interconnected beings shaped by the nuances of values, culture, race, religion and experiences. All facets of who you are and where you come from are welcomed and it is my privilege to explore them with you.
